Ancient Ore Armor is an armor from Gothic. It is one of the best armors on the Isle of Khorinis, being made almost entirely out of Magic Ore, it provides an excellent protection to the wearer.
Background
It used to be in possession of an unknown general many centuries before the events of the first game, who also happened to own the Uriziel. The general has fallen during one of his battles with the Orcs, his sword was captured and stored in the Temple of the Sleeper and his armor under undisclosed circumstances found its way into Xardas' possession. The necromancer stored it inside his old tower, guarded by the undead.
Gothic
The Nameless Hero can obtain it in Chapter V after finding strange sword (Uriziel) and bringing it to Xardas. While the necromancer is preparing a Transfer of Power, the hero will receive a key to a chest storing the armor inside the old tower. It can be further upgraded by Stone after freeing him from the dungeon of the Old Camp, increasing all protection values by 5.
It is worth 5700 ore nuggets, and can be sold for 2850 ore.
Gothic II
It can be seen in the introduction scene. The Nameless Hero is seen wearing unconscious under the rubble of the temple of the Sleeper. It is destroyed right after Xardas successfully manages to teleport the hero out of the temple, making him its last owner. Xardas later says that the magic aura of the armor kept him alive.
