- Certain members of Piranha Bytes, the original developers of Gothic, have stated[1] that the events of Gothic 3: The Beginning are not considered canon towards the Gothic series. Now that the Gothic franchise is owned by THQ Nordic, the canonicity of Gothic 3: The Beginning remains unknown.
