Mud is a Digger in the Old Camp.
Background
Mud's parents didn't want him.
He is from Khorinis and claims to have had friends there.
He was thrown into the penal colony because he likes animals.
Some guys from the New Camp constantly try to beat him.
Gothic
Mud lives in a hut in the outer ring of the Old Camp near the entrance to the castle.
If the Nameless Hero enters Mud's dialogue range, Mud asks him if he minds him joining him as he surely needs a friend. Regardless of whether the Hero accepts or refuses, Mud follows him and talks to him every 30 seconds. If the Hero asks him to please be quiet for a minute, Mud will do so for 5 minutes. The only way to make him stop following and talking to the Hero is violence. Mud sprints away when being attacked making beating him up somewhat tricky for weaker characters. Once knocked down he calls the Hero a lunatic and stops bothering him.
He is of no use in battles as he runs from every threat.
Gothic II
Mud's zombie version can be summoned via cheats by typing "thequeenisdead" in the character status screen and using the scroll that appears in the player's inventory.
Gothic Remake

Mud can be seen trying to get food from Snaf in a trailer.[1] Snaf tells him to get lost as he already had his share causing Mud to pout as he walks away.
