Old Mine

Old Mine is a mine in Gothic, Gothic II, Gothic II: Night of the Raven and Gothic Remake.

Gothic

In Gothic, the Old Mine is coltrolled by the Old Camp and is used by Old Camp as a source of Magic Ore for trade with the king. In later half of the game, the mine collapses, leaving most of the people inside dead.
Old Mine is a key location in the main story, where Secretion of the Minecrawlers takes place.

Gothic II / Gothic II: Night of the Raven

In Gothic II / NotR, the Old Mine is but a small portion of what it was in the previous game and is used by paladins in an attempt to collect enough ore to bring back to mainland.

Paladin Marcos is responsible for mining in what remains of the Old Mine.

Trivia

• In Gothic, to maximize experience, after taking the minecrawler eggs and (optionally but preferably) killing the minecrawler queen in Secretion of the Minecrawlers, the player is free to kill every inhabitant of the mine, be it human or minecrawler, because the mine collapses in chapter 4 and no quests take place in Old Mine after Secretion of the Minecrawlers.
