Snaf's Recipe is a side quest in Gothic. The cook Snaf asks the player to bring him the missing ingredients for his new recipe.
How to obtain the quest
Snaf is located in the outer ring of the Old Camp. Facing the entrance of the castle turn left and you will see a man stirring a big kettle.
Ask him how things are and what you can do for him and he will tell you about his new recipe meatbug ragout a la Snaf with rice and mushrooms and that he is still missing 3 meatbugs and 5 hell mushrooms.
If you tell him that it sounds good, you will be able to get free meatbug ragout from him later.
How to solve the quest
You need to take the bugmeat from the corpses of 3 meatbugs and pick up 5 hell mushrooms.
There are 3 meatbugs inside the Old Camp at a destroyed hut near the south gate of the camp. Besides these there are also 2 meatbugs at the exchange place near the start of the game and 2 meatbugs are near Cavalorn's hut.
Hell mushrooms grow in many caves and forests. The easiest place to pick them up is directly outside the south gate of the Old Camp.
Rewards
Upon delivery you receive 100 experience points and 3 meatbug ragouts.
If you told him that the recipe sounds good when accepting the quest, you can get 3 meatbug ragouts every day.

- This quest is interconnected with the quest Vanished Guard. Snaf tells you that he already sent Nek and you find him at the place where he directs you to go to find hell mushrooms.
